This a dairy free spin on the classic sleep inducing beverage.
For those who may feel a little jangly before bed or a little peckish after dinner, this cosy cup offers a soothing & satisfying solution. This vegan version contains tryptophan which through the addition of magnesium & zinc (in cashews) gets converted to melatonin which makes you feel sleepy.
I've also added some extra treats including Ceylon cinnamon, carob, & the adaptogens reishi & tulsi to promote those optimal feelings of calm.
Add the cashews to a bowl/cup, pour over boiling water & leave for 10 minutes. Drain, rinse & pop into a blender with the oats, add 1 cup of boiling water & leave for 5 minutes.
Add the rest of your ingredients & blend until smooth then heat in a pan until lovely & warm.
Serve topped with extra cinnamon.
