This potent, food based remedy harnesses the natural power of its ingredients. It is simple to prepare, easy to store, has no contraindications and can be used with toddlers and children (I may just decrease the chilli element however). It is a natural expectorant and antibacterial so will help to clear excess mucous, blocked sinuses and chesty coughs, in addition to bolstering your immune response to prevent coughs or colds settling in, whilst warding off future nasties.
DOSAGE:
If you are feeling unwell:
Adults: Take 1 tablespoon 3-6 times-a-day, you can add a little manuka honey to taste if you wish. I recommend it to be taken as a ‘shot’ and then washed down with veggie juice or herbal tea, but it can also be used as a seasoning or sauce drizzled on some warm (but not hot) rice, for example.
Children 10+ years: Take 1/2 tablespoon 3-6 times-a-day as above.
Children under 10 years: Take 1/2 tablespoon 3-6 times-a-day as above.
To use preventatively:
Adults: Take 1 tablespoon-a-day to boost your immune defences & ward off any lurking bugs.
Children 10+ years: 1/2 tablespoon-a-day diluted with water/vegetable juice or mixed into a small amount of warm rice.
Children under 10 years: 1 teaspoon-a-day diluted with water/vegetable juice or mixed into a small amount of warm rice.
Peel the garlic and onions, then add all ingredients to high-speed blender and purée until smooth.
Transfer to an airtight jar and leave the pulp to sit in the juices for a couple of days at room temperature before moving to the fridge.
It will increase in potency the longer it has to mature, simply strain off as required, you can top up the pulp with a bit of additional apple cider vinegar and leave it to steep again.
It will preserve itself.
