I love to experiment with new ways to jazz up my morning oats and this has to be a firm contender for the top spot.

This dreamy, creamy, high protein breakfast is bound to satisfy that cosy sweet comfort craving. This bowl offers a bounty of healthy fats & high quality protein, as well as vitamins B6, E and K and minerals including iron, magnesium, copper and selenium (a very important one for your thyroid & immune system).

Key Facts

  • Naturally sugar free
  • Dairy free
  • High in protein
  • Supports the immune system

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup spouted oats (go gluten free if necessary)
  • 1 cups organic non-GMO soy milk (or use dairy milk if you wish)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoon protein powder (I recommend the Planet Paleo bone broth proteins)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 blood orange
  • 3-4 physalis
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cashew butter or tahini

Preparation

01

Add all ingredients except toppings to a small pan. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.

02

Peel the blood orange and chop into smallish pieces, add half to the oats and keep half to sprinkle over the top.

03

Once the liquid has all been absorbed decant your porridge into a bowl and top with the remaining orange slices, halved physalis, pumpkin seeds and cashew butter.
